White Rocks

With a name like that you could be forgiven for thinking you’re booking a hotel in Ibiza, but rest assured it’s in Kefalonia, in Lassi.

And unlike some parts of Ibiza the White Rocks is overall a peaceful relaxing place to stay with excellent sea views and has a private beach for guests.

There’s a choice of bungalows or an apartment in the main hotel, and the apartment is almost universally regarded as a better choice until recently when the bungalows were renovated to a better standard.

Cleanliness is good, and meals are of a good standard too. Overall with friendly staff a 3 star equivalent mid range hotel that is certainly worth considering. Tour operators who include this as one of their hotels in Kefalonia include Thomson Holidays

Palace

The Kefalonia Palace is located in Lixouri, close to what is regarded as a god beach, but the downside is that there aren’t many facilities closeby, so if you’re after a package deal and tend to stay in the grounds a lot, this could be one of the hotels in Kefalonia that you might want to consider.

It’s good for families and reviews indicate there tend to be a lot of children on holiday here, but the staff and facilities are good enough for many to visit more than once – always a good recommendation.

Garden Village

As well as recommendations and reviews for those hotels in Kefalonia which might be worth considering and perhaps ultimately booking, it’s useful to know sometimes which ones should probably be avoided – and the Garden Village is one of these.

Located just outside of Lixouri, there is a shuttle bus that runs guests to the town, but if you hire a car it’s difficult to park nearby.

The staff can have a bad attitude, but the plus side is that it has good views across the bay from most of the rooms.

Not suitable for the elderly due to the steps, and if you have a choice it seems that the Palace is a better option.

Villa Costa

The good news is that there are plenty of good Kefalonia hotels to choose from, and one worth considering is the Villa Costa in Skala.

It’s boutique, with direct access to Scala beach and each of the seven rooms has great Mediterranean views.

The grounds are well maintained with a swimming pool.

The restaurant is first class, and the main town is a pleasant ten minute stroll.

One and two bedroom apartments are available, and for somewhere quiet with first class service this is the hotel for you.

Sami Beach

For a great location just by the Mediterranean, with its own swimming pool and tennis court, the Sami Beach is one of the Kefalonia hotels that should be considered for a holiday.

It’s family run and as such is really well run, with everything you might hope for in a great hotel in a peaceful location.

It’s a twenty minute walk into town, but the hotel does excellent meals including breakfast – if you want a peaceful holiday in a great location at a well run friendly hotel, seriously consider booking the Sami, one of the top rated Kefalonia hotels.
